I live in Nashville and work for United Way, and am amazed each day by their commitment to the community. Nashville's spirit won't be shaken by this storm, but there is much to be done, and unspeakable loss has been suffered. Please download and share with your friends how they can make a difference.

I wrote and recorded this song earlier this year, but didn't finish mixing it until last week. After the recent devastation, I realized that, while I didn't know it at the time, this song is about Nashville. It is a promised land for many, a place of dreams and opportunity. While these storms have tried to "bend and break us", Nashville's resolve is strong. The character of our community has been revealed in this disaster and we have risen to the occasion. While we need help rebuilding, the spirit of Nashville rests on a firm foundation, and won't be shaken by NO storm.
I built this house with my own two hands
I built this house with hands of my brothers
Built this house on a firm foundation
It won’t be shaken by no storm
Oh the wind and rain, they try to overtake us
The wind and rain, they wanna bend and break us
But we’re saved by a firm foundation
And won’t be shaken by no storm
I built this house on a promised land
I built this house through the tears of my mother
Built this house though our hearts were breakin’
It won’t be shaken by no storm
Oh the floods they come, their waters risin’ high
But I won’t run, no I’ll stay safe and dry
Inside this house, it’s on a firm foundation
It won’t be shaken by no storm
I built this house with my own two hands
I built this house with hands of my brothers
Built this house on a firm foundation
It won’t be shaken by no storm
